Information: The cave complex is thought to extend for 10-14 km into Doi Chiang Dao Mountain and from the summit of Doi Chiang there are magnificent views. In fact the whole surrounding area is largely unspoiled and quite scenic.

The two main caves that are easily explored on one's own are Tham Phra Nawn and Tham Seua Dao, as they are electrically illuminated. Both these caves contain many religious statuary and sacred Buddha images.

In order to explore Tham Maa, Tham Kaew or Tham Naam caves visitors must bring or hire their own lights and lanterns as these caves have no electric lightning.

Information:  Chiang Mai Zoo was established by the The Zoological Park Organization, Thailand in 1974. Situated on 531 Rai of verdant forest land at the foothill of Doi Suthep mountain, the zoo is surrounded by hilly terrain which is home to thousands of species of wild plants and flowers adorning the natural landscape of valleys, streams and waterfalls.

Chiang Mai Zoo is the first and only zoo in Northern Thailand where visitors can experience the excitement and intimacy of various species of animals in their natural habitat.

Information: To experience and feel the atmosphere of a typical northern farm, one may take a day trip to this camp. Only a 30-minute drive from Chiang Mai, it can be accessed by local taxis. Organized shows give you an overview of the ancient farming techniques, including water wheel irrigation, plowing and sugar processing. The farm area also houses an exotic folk museum and a farmhouse built in the traditional way.

Information: The Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand was opened in 1992 and is maintained under the auspices of the Thai Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Information: This is Chiang Mai's biggest orchid farm, which plays host to almost every species of orchid that grows in Thailand. This includes one of world's most beautiful and rarest varieties, the Vanda Coerulea "Pure White" orchid. It also houses a butterfly farm and a few rare breeds of Siamese cats and dogs. In addition to fresh orchids, which can also be exported, the farm offers a variety of souvenirs, such as gold-gilded orchid and butterfly ornaments.

Information: This is one main gates to the old city of Chiang Mai, and a major landmark as well. Each corner and each main gate of the old city faces the eight main points of the compass, with one extra gate on the south side. Tha Pae Gate faces east, and is endowed with the astrological faculty of mula or prosperity. It was first called Pratu Chiang Ruak because it was situated near Chiang Ruak village when it was built in the reign of King Mangrai in 1296. Today this impressive looking Gate is a popular photo-taking spot for tourists.
