Information: Located approximately at km. 4 at the edge of the road on the right. It is a collection of art and antique objects, unusual to find in present day Chiangmai. Chateau Kum - Une is constructed of beautiful golden teak and is very pleasing to the eye. The surrounding grounds are painted with many varieties of plants and tree nurseries which provide confortable shade.

Information: This place is located in an old building of elegant architectural design built in 1924. Standing on the location of a former royal hall, the building was used as the central administrative unit of Siam, and later as the Provincial Hall of Chiang Mai. This place was received an award in 1999 for preservation of a public building from the Royal Society of Siamese Architects (Society of Siamese Architects under Royal Parsonage).

The museum has been divided into two sections. The front (eastern) part of the square-shape building contains permanent exhibits, while the rear section of the building has been dedicated to cultural activities, temporary exhibits, a souvenir shop, lecture theatre and exhibition hall for Lanna arts and an archive.

Information: The Museum comprises a collection of homemade dolls incorporated into charming displays.  Visitors will find dolls in traditional costumes from around Thailand, as well as dolls from many other countries.  The Dollworks is worth visiting, particularly for doll lovers and families with children. Furthermore, the charming dolls intricately handcrafted by local artisans make impressive souvenirs and collection items.

Information: The various exhibits are superbly created with sculptural stories of our Royal past and beautiful paintings of ancient maps depicting old Lanna territories all created by some of Chiang Mai's most celebrated sculptors and painters. Each panel is accompanied by a backlit sign explaining each exhibit, firstly in Kam Muang, then Thai and followed by English. The exhibit is also audibly explained in five languages by the sophisticated palm which is handed to every visitor. A coffee and gift shop allows the interested visitor to spend some time in the museum in a relaxed and attractive setting.

Information: Housed in a beautiful, recently renovated building on the Superhighway north of town, this Museum offers an interesting way to learn about the ancient Lanna culture. Downstairs, various displays document the history of northern Thailand from pre-neolithic times to the present. Included in the showcase are impressive bronze and gold jewelry, and actual ceramics excavated from the famous 14th- to 16th-century kilns of the old kingdom of Lanna. Upstairs, you can gain insight into the crafts and skills practiced in Lanna times. There are collections of farming tools, wood carvings, old photographs and textiles.

Information: This museum is run by the Fine Arts Faculty of The Chiang Mai University, this is a fine museum indeed and is doing wonders for the promotion and understanding of art in the north of Thailand. There is not enough budget to fund a permanant exhibition, so it is often a tad hit and miss with the quality of exhibits. But whether it's a young talent, a wondering foreign artist or a famous and established national artist, this museum is always of interest and the friendly art students wandering around are always helpful.

Information: This unusual museum provides an excellent insight into the life and times of Dara Rassamee, a consort of King Chulalonghorn (Rama V) and half-sister to the (then) Prince of Lanna. Dara Rassamee lived over 100 years ago and during her life she was instrumental in uniting the Kingdoms of Siam and Lanna, as well as being a great preserver of art, furniture and clothing from the traditional northern culture. Much of her collection is now displayed in her former home, almost all of which is open to the public.
