Information:

King Rama VI used to write his literary war in this area formerly known as Sompoy Field. H later named the pavilion Chitraladarahotarn Palace, and King Rama VII commanded it to be annexed to Dusit Garden Palace. Today the palace is thq residence of Their Majesties King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit.

Information:

Construction of the Royal Palace began in 1782 and was completed in time for the coronation of Rama I. The original living quarters were temporary and made of wood and thatch and the walls surrounding the palace were made of wood palisades. After the coronation the King moved into a mansion built of permanent materials. The only other building of permanent material at the time was Wat Phra Si Rattanasatsadaram (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the forts along the walls.

Information:

Newly-restored and open once again to the public, Ladawan Palace, on Ratchasima Road, was built in 1907 as a gift from King Rama V to his son Prince Yugala Bidhamabara. With large verdant gardens and wide ventilating corridors and windows, it flaunts his penchant for European living concepts at the time. Also known as the Red Palace due its crimson outer walls, it is a two-storey brick and stone building with four-storey watchtower. Designed in the style of Victorian and Italian villas by Italian architect G. Bruno, many Western architectural techniques such as arches, pilasters, rustication and wall bearings are in evidence.

This hall was built at the command of King Rama V and Finish in the region of king Rama VI for visiting foreign dignitaries and for state council meetings. The Italian architecture, Tamango; designed it in the Renaissance style.
