Information: Koh Hae is a small island situated 9 km southeast of Phuket. It stretches 3 km from east to west but is only 800 metres from north to south. Apart from a fisherman's village, much of the island is clad in jungle, and has not changed much for decades. Nevertheless, Koh Hae is a popular day trip for visitors to Phuket, because of its lovely coral reef. For that reason, Koh Hae is often called Coral Island. Unfortunately, most of the reef near the shore is now dead. Nevertheless, the island has two stretches of long, white sandy beaches which are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Among the tourist activities available at Koh Hae is the Underwater Seawalker, a sort of helmet that allows visitors to walk underwater.

Information: Phang Nga Bay straddles the three main districts of Krabi province, and is one of the busiest day-trips out of Phuket. There are two popular spots here; with its signature rocky pinnacle, James Bond Island is spectacular. Named because it was used in the film “The Man With The Golden Gun,” crowds flock here hoping for a piece of movie action. Koh Panyi,Sea Gypsy Island is also popular. Home to a remarkable Muslim village, the whole of it built out over the water on stilts, it is well worth a visit for lunch and souvenir shopping.
