Bangkok, April 11 - The private sector has urged the government to rebuild the image of the Southern region before next week's Songkran festival to encourage locals into the area, which was recently hit hard by floods.

Thailand expects 15% rise in Indian arrivals
Bangkok, April 4 - As more and more Indians take to international travel, especially to Far East destinations, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is expecting a higher double-digit growth in arrivals for 2011. In 2010, Thailand received 791,185 visitors from India while the estimated figure for 2011 is upwards of 885,000 visitors — an increase of 15% from the previous year.
TAT to launch ‘Amazing Thailand Stopover’ campaign
Berlin, february 11 - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), together with a broad range of industry alliance partners, will launch a seven-month campaign to attract more transit tourists and stopover visitors to Bangkok. To be run under the brand-name ‘Amazing Thailand Stopover’, the campaign will be launched at the ITB Berlin, to be held from March 9-13, 2011.
