Thailand Tourism Lost 2.5 Billion Due To FloodsBangkok, April 10 - Southern Thailand floods cost tourism industry 2.5 billion Baht in revenues. According to Thailand tourism, tourist arrivals dropped 30 per cent due to the floods in Southern Thailand. 

 Floods continue to affect four provinces in Thailand. These provinces are Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phattalung, Surat Thani and Trang. While situation is improving in 6 provinces - Phangnga, Narathiwat, Satun, Chumphon, Songkhla and Krabi.

The Nakhon Si Thammarat airport is also operational after being closed since last Monday. Thousands of tourists were stranded due to closure of the airport. These tourists were forced to spend several nights at the airport.

Floods dropped the tourist arrivals by 30 per cent that resulted in 2.5 billion baht loss for the tourism. Tourism Council of Thailand believes that the negative effect of the floods will not last very long and tourism industry will start to bounce back very strongly.
